Thank you for reading it and commenting so kindly. It is the text of a paper I gave at a recent inter-religious conference at Otani University, Kyoto, on the theme of wisdom. It will be published next year in a collection with the other speakers’ papers, so do watch this space for more details.
I'm too early in my reading on the subject to make any kind of pronouncement, to be honest. Solovyov is waiting on my shelf unread, and while I have read some of Bulgakov's thoughts on the matter, for the most part I have only read about Russian Sophiology in secondary sources, most of them polemical or at best muted in their appreciation. I do look forward to reading more, though. What are your thoughts?
Masterfully written. And a good intro into the writings of Dionysius the Aeropagite.

A good semester’s work in this essay! Need to reread, more than once :)
A very nice piece! “Bad etymology can yield good theology” is a particularly interesting point.
What do you think of Russian Sophiology?

I’ve read a few of Bulgakov’s essays but I can’t really say I understand his Sophiology well
